About Lisa Luhn

Lisa is an artist who carves beautiful and meaningful designs in jewelers wax to reproduce in metals. She is inspired by natural beauty, Christian symbols, and mythic stories.

Her carving career began over a decade ago as a surprising answer to prayer. She knew she had the ability to make professional level art in a variety of mediums, and she felt frustrated by her lack of direction. One Saturday night she prayed earnestly for direction in her career, and the next day at church she unexpectedly learned of a design opportunity at a quickly growing company making beaded bookmarks. She showed the art director her portfolio of drawings, and he told her that what he really needed was someone to carve original charms to hang on the bookmarks. He said "If you can draw like that, you can learn how to carve."

The company purchased the equipment she needed and a book about how to use it, and Lisa plunged into the deep end of teaching herself how to carve wax to make fresh designs that were reproduced in pewter.

After years of working freelance for the company that got her started, she began to create designs for her own company. She had them reproduced in silver and brass in the United States, and Anthemsweet was born.
